I'm a stylist, nanny, and figure skating coach. After graduating from college and working in the fashion retail industry for several years, 2020 was the year I took my passion for style and turned it into a business! I love DIY home projects and I’m equally comfortable operating a power saw or picking out the perfect pair of shoes. I'm extremely close with my family and they are frequently recipients of my solicited (or unsolicited) fashion advice.
We’re coming out of quarantine and starting to attend some social events again. BUT, if you’re anything like me, you’re really out of practice…So here are 5 easy outfit formulas to play with as we head into early fall.
I know that you won’t have the exact same items that I used – and that’s OK! That’s why I format my outfit ideas as a formulas, so that you can easily input items that you do own.
I can’t say it enough, a black midi dress is an incredibly versatile piece to have in your closet. The denim jacket adds a little personality. Wear sandals, sneakers, or wedges depending on the event!
Overalls are a super popular item for summer AND fall! I found these great lightweight linen blend ones from Walmart, that will pair well with any plain colored or striped tee. Sneakers or Birkenstocks are perfect footwear for this look.
This is one of my go-to outfits year round. The under layer can be a tee OR tank – plain, patterned, or graphic. Add the denim jacket for cooler evenings or air-conditioned rooms.
Midi skirts are a STAPLE for summer! Knit ones are comfortable & forgiving, so that is the fabric I gravitate towards. Wearing booties or wedges will elongate your legs. Add a cropped jacket to complete the look!
I feel like this outfit is equal parts casual and sassy 🙂 Straight leg jeans are a popular style this season, and you can add a heel & hat to dress up the look. Add a long button up or cardigan on top!
