I'm a stylist, nanny, and figure skating coach. After graduating from college and working in the fashion retail industry for several years, 2020 was the year I took my passion for style and turned it into a business! I love DIY home projects and I’m equally comfortable operating a power saw or picking out the perfect pair of shoes. I'm extremely close with my family and they are frequently recipients of my solicited (or unsolicited) fashion advice.
Black dresses are a wardrobe staple, and can be styled in so many different ways. Regardless of if your black dress is mini, midi, or maxi length – these style ideas will work!
You could use a plain colored tee or a graphic tee if you wanted your look to be a little more “edgy”. You can also play around with what shoes you wear – I have booties on to play up the edgy-ness, but sandals would give the outfit a more feminine look!
I used a flannel shirt for this example, but you could do the same thing with a chambray shirt or a lightweight hoodie. Same thing here, you can change up the look based on what shoes you pair with it. Sneakers would make the look more casual!
Let the accessories be the highlight of the outfit. Hats, jewelry, purse, scarf, shoes. Or a mixture of a few of those, like I did!
This could be a denim jacket, moto jacket, or utility jacket. Or, even a cardigan when it gets cooler!
This outfit mixes sporty & feminine – seriously, this outfit is so “me”! Adding things like a baseball cap or sneakers increases the sporty vibe.
Play around with shoes, jewelry, accessories to make these outfits fit your personal style. And of course, I’d love you to tell me if you try any of these outfit ideas!
