I'm a stylist, nanny, and figure skating coach. After graduating from college and working in the fashion retail industry for several years, 2020 was the year I took my passion for style and turned it into a business! I love DIY home projects and I’m equally comfortable operating a power saw or picking out the perfect pair of shoes. I'm extremely close with my family and they are frequently recipients of my solicited (or unsolicited) fashion advice.
Fall weather is HERE and that means so are sweaters! But often, we get stuck in a rut of wearing our sweaters only 1 way (usually, with jeans!). So here are 3 ways to spice up your fall sweater outfits:
(FYI, there are some affiliate links in this blog post, meaning I will make a small amount of commission at no cost to you!)
First off, the sweater I’m wearing is Old Navy from 2 years ago. Click here for the cream option they have this season!
Let your accessories be the highlight of the outfit! I’m talking hats, jewelry, fun shoes.
My favorite wide brim hats have all been from Target recently. Right now they have some great color options of this felt hat.
I also paired the sweater with some trendy wide leg jeans from H & M – a place I highly recommend for trying out denim trends at affordable prices. This pair is currently sold out, but here is a similar option in the same “wide high jeans” fit.
I layered a classic chambray shirt under the sweater – letting the collar, cuffs, and bottom hem pop out. This is a perfect business casual look too, with the clean wash black skinny jeans from American Eagle.
This is a fun way to style a sweater using your more summer-y pieces.
Hint: I used a belt to get the “cropped sweater” look, to show my waistline in a flattering way. I shared a quick “how to” video about this trick on my Instagram, which you can find here.
And of course I paired it with my favorite white sneakers that I’ve worn for the past 2 years – they have stayed super white even in all that time, which is amazing.
I hope this helps breath some new life into your most-loved fall and winter sweaters. Which are you most excited to try?
