I'm a stylist, nanny, and figure skating coach. After graduating from college and working in the fashion retail industry for several years, 2020 was the year I took my passion for style and turned it into a business! I love DIY home projects and I’m equally comfortable operating a power saw or picking out the perfect pair of shoes. I'm extremely close with my family and they are frequently recipients of my solicited (or unsolicited) fashion advice.
I recently had 2 different virtual style sessions with professional young women that were looking to get EXCITED about their wardrobes again! Since they live in another part of the midwest, their sessions were held via Facetime. After each of my sessions I send a PDF to my clients with the style tips and outfit ideas we talked about during their session – this way they don’t have to worry about remembering everything we talked about on their own!
My client Karin works in a male-dominated field, and needs outfits that help demand respect at work, while not aging her. She has 2 main categories in her closet: “work clothes” & “casual clothes”. Throughout her virtual session, we worked on ways that she can merge those 2 “sides” of her closet to create outfits that work for all the different parts of her lifestyle! We created mix-and-match outfits that included dressy AND casual pieces, so that her outfits can more easily transition from work to play.
Karin was also super open to pattern mixing. I love when clients are open to trying new things when it comes to style – the experimentation is what makes style / fashion so FUN! We talked through ways that she can pattern mix well, like by putting a bold print with a more muted print and keeping a consistent color between both. This will add help add some fun personality to her style as well!
My other recent virtual session was with Diane. She is a teacher that has a ton of cute on-trend items, but finds herself getting stuck wearing the same 5 outfits over & over again.
It was fun to breathe some NEW LIFE into her closet, while being another set of eyes to come in and see all her items from a different perspective. We talked about what other items can pair together that are still within her go-to “outfit formulas”…but with a twist. For example, she already likes to wear dresses with sneakers. But I had her try adding a graphic tee knotted over the dress for something a little different! By the end of her session, I could tell that she was getting EXCITED about her clothes again, which is exactly why I created my personal styling business in the first place.
