I'm a stylist, nanny, and figure skating coach. After graduating from college and working in the fashion retail industry for several years, 2020 was the year I took my passion for style and turned it into a business! I love DIY home projects and I’m equally comfortable operating a power saw or picking out the perfect pair of shoes. I'm extremely close with my family and they are frequently recipients of my solicited (or unsolicited) fashion advice.
It’s hard to give up those cute summer dresses when the weather cools down – so here are some ways to style your summer dresses in fall! There are some affiliate links included in this post to these pieces or similar ones, which I may earn a small amount of commission on at no cost to you. 🙂 The overall dress I’m styling in all the looks is from American Eagle, and you can find it here.
I recently got this black fitted long sleeve from Abercrombie, and it fits so well and is perfect for layering.
Chunky cardigans are a super easy way to take your summer dresses into fall! Add a wide brim hat and booties for an even more fall-y look.
Long sleeve knits are something you can knot OVER a dress to style it more like a skirt, and add some warmth to your outfit. This is the top I’m wearing, and here is a similar top from Old Navy.
This outfit formula will work with any button down top or shacket. This cream button down I’m wearing is from Target and can be found here.
A shorter moto jacket is great way to make a summer dress feel more like Fall. Add a chunky bootie or heel & you’re ready for date night or dinner out with friends. Here are the shoes I’m wearing from Target.
Similar to outfit idea #1, but with a thicker sweater layered under.
Short sleeve if its a little warmer still, but could be long sleeve if you want. I put a belt on over my dress & tucked the sweater up into it.
