I'm a stylist, nanny, and figure skating coach. After graduating from college and working in the fashion retail industry for several years, 2020 was the year I took my passion for style and turned it into a business! I love DIY home projects and I’m equally comfortable operating a power saw or picking out the perfect pair of shoes. I'm extremely close with my family and they are frequently recipients of my solicited (or unsolicited) fashion advice.
Here is a quick recap of two closet clean out sessions I’ve had recently:
One was with someone who found me through Instagram! She had started her closet clean out, but wanted a 2nd opinion to finish out, along with some fall outfit styling from the items she already owns.
She didn’t have a lot of clothes to begin with, but we were really intentional with our decisions so that she only has items in her closet that she ACTIVELY wears.
After we cleaned out her clothes and shoes, I went through and pulled out items I think I could resell for her online as a part of my consignment service.
My next session was actually in Eau Claire, Wisconsin! That’s a little outside my normal driving radius for in-person sessions, but it’s an option if we chat about compensation for gas/travel time.
This client’s session was mainly closet clean out focused. We went through all her clothes, shoes, jackets, and purses. While making these decisions, we talked a lot about body type, and why some of the pieces in her wardrobe are NOT the most flattering options for her, and those went to the “donate/sell” pile.
We also discussed different options for how to hang her pants, since the way they are hung right now is not very space efficient.
Then we talked about switching her hangers to felt hangers 1. for the clean look in gives a closet and 2. because she had some tops that don’t stay on plastic hangers, but need to be in the closet with their friends! By the time I had gotten home, I got this text from her:
I love a super proactive closet session client!
