I'm a stylist, nanny, and figure skating coach. After graduating from college and working in the fashion retail industry for several years, 2020 was the year I took my passion for style and turned it into a business! I love DIY home projects and I’m equally comfortable operating a power saw or picking out the perfect pair of shoes. I'm extremely close with my family and they are frequently recipients of my solicited (or unsolicited) fashion advice.
Summer style is hard for me – I’m definitely more of a fall / winter style girl. So rather than stay frustrated with it, I took some time to figure out what my go-to summer outfit formulas are going to be. This way, I can quickly recreate or make a slight variation of them when I’m getting ready early in the morning.
Here are my 7 go-to outfit formulas for summer style as a nanny! FYI, this blog post contains some affiliate links, from which I can earn a small commission at no cost to you.
These overalls are a new style that I’ve tried recently from Target – and I’m a big fan! FYI, I sized up 2 sizes for a cozier fit. I paired them with sneakers, but could wear Birkenstocks/sandals too.
I have trouble finding denim shorts that fit my hourglass body type well. But then I just found these longer 5″ inseam shorts at Old Navy that fit really well & don’t ride up!
Okkkkk I just got this black romper at Lululemon and when I say I’m obsessed with it…I’m not kidding. It has longer shorts so they don’t ride up, it has a high neckline so I don’t have to worry about that while nannying, and it is lightweight, so it won’t be too hot. Perfect for my life on the go as a nanny of 2 small kids!
If I want to be a little more “dressy”, I can opt for this dress & denim jacket & sandals combo. I got this green knit dress at Old Navy, and it comes in a bunch of different colors.
I got this athletic dress at Old Navy this spring, and it comes in a few colors. Here is a super popular tank style from Abercrombie this season, and this one-shoulder one is so cute!
Athletic joggers are one of my most-worn items in my closet. Pairing them with a graphic or basic tee is an easy outfit combo!
These high neck tanks from Target come in many different colors, and the high neck is perfect for like on-the-go as a nanny.
I paired them with these black shorts from Target, that are a good cross between an athletic short and a “regular” short.
