I'm a stylist, nanny, and figure skating coach. After graduating from college and working in the fashion retail industry for several years, 2020 was the year I took my passion for style and turned it into a business! I love DIY home projects and I’m equally comfortable operating a power saw or picking out the perfect pair of shoes. I'm extremely close with my family and they are frequently recipients of my solicited (or unsolicited) fashion advice.
When you live in a small 1-bedroom apartment, you don’t have room to keep things that you no longer wear! Vivie’s closet was in need of a revamp so that she could truly see what she has, and quickly be able to put together outfits when she needs them.
Not only were we able to get rid of some things she no longer wears, but we were able to make the small bedroom/closet space more functional for her too. We stuck “quick grab” things in bins on her shelf (i.e. workout clothes that she uses every day) and added a small shoe shelf on the ground to organize her boots. We also put things that she doesn’t use very often (big fuzzy jackets) under her bed instead of having them hanging prominently on her closet door as they were.
Once we were finished, we had filled NINE GARBAGE BAGS with clothes & shoes she no longer needed. We separated out the items that have some resale value and I brought the rest of the items to Goodwill.
I then listed the items with resale value in my Poshmark closet and we split the profits from the sales!
I used to clean out my closet and be bummed out that I was donating some really nice stuff (that I paid good money for!) to Goodwill. At the time, I didn’t know about Poshmark or any other reselling sites. But now, I love being able to get some of my money “back” by reselling my items on Poshmark. And if we clean out your closet, I can sell your items for you too 😉
