Hi!

my name is
katie bjorlin.

I'm a stylist, nanny, and figure skating coach. After graduating from college and working in the fashion retail industry for several years, 2020 was the year I took my passion for style and turned it into a business! I love DIY home projects and I’m equally comfortable operating a power saw or picking out the perfect pair of shoes. I'm extremely close with my family and they are frequently recipients of my solicited (or unsolicited) fashion advice.

IN ACTION

So we’re in that period of time where the weather starts to cool a little bit, but you aren’t ready to fully commit to wearing sweaters yet… Here are 10 outfit ideas that can take your summer pieces into fall!

(FYI, there are some affiliate links in this blog post, meaning I will make a small amount of commission at no cost to you!)

1. Dress with fitted top layered underneath.

Use a fitted tee or long sleeve, depending on the weather.

This polka dot dress was from Old Navy last season, but here is their midi dress option of this season.

2. Tee & jeans with fall accessories.

A very summery outfit, but the accessories bring it into fall. Think: hats, fall shoes (booties, mules), or a jacket.

The exact wash of the jeans I’m wearing from LOFT are sold out, but here is the lighter gray wash ones of the same straight fit – they are so comfortable, they don’t feel like you’re even wearing jeans.

3. Skirt/skort with denim jacket.

As someone who has been living in skorts over the summer, this outfit is totally my vibe, but more appropriate for the cooling temps!

If you’re in the market for a new denim jacket, one of my favorite denim jackets is my Kara Denim Jacket from Kut from the Kloth. The jacket I’m wearing is from the same brand, but from a few years ago.

4. Cropped leggings & denim jacket.

I paired the leggings with a tunic top front-tucked, and a denim jacket for an extra light layer.

I swear by my Athleta crop leggings. I have multiple pairs because I wear them so often…LOL.

5. Cardigan over summer dress.

Perfect option for work – could be a short cardigan or long cardigan, or a jacket!

6. Sweater vest & jeans.

Sweater vests are all the rage this fall – and since they are sleeveless, they make for the perfect intro-to-fall outfit.

Mine is from Marshall’s, but H&M has some great ones right now. Click here for a longer length, here for a black one, and here for a crew neck option.

7. Graphic tee & joggers.

With so many options of graphic tees, you can truly make this outfit your own! Add a jacket or cardigan if you need an extra layer.

8. Blazer & cropped jeans.

Another option for work (but maybe with clean wash denim instead of distressed depending on your work dress code!).

9. Cropped sweatshirt over summer dress.

Put a belt over the dress but under the sweatshirt (so its hidden). Tuck the hem of the sweatshirt up in the belt to highlight your waist!

Just got these booties in from Target and LOVE them. They have a lower shaft, which I feel like is more flattering on my legs than higher shaft lug boots/combat boots.

And here is the sweatshirt – and it’s actually a part of a set!

10. Midi skirt & jacket.

Here’s a dressier option – I love midi skirts cause they easily can be worn in summer OR fall.

Just got this midi skirt from Target, and it has a great fit. Sits high on my waist, has an elastic waistband, and flowy fit without being overwhelming. I’m a big fan!

Which outfit is your favorite?!
