My recent client Erica received a 2-hour closet clean out session from her mom for her birthday! As a mom of 3 young kids, her closet/shopping had fallen to the bottom of her to-do list.
We started by doing a FULL clean out of her closet and dresser. We pulled out any pieces that no longer fit or were worn out from wearing them so much. As we went through, I had her mention which pieces she liked, and we discussed what about them she liked (fit, fabric, color, style). We also talked about body type, and what pieces would be flattering on her body type.
Her closet had become the go-to place to toss things when company was coming over…making it not a very peaceful place to put together an outfit!
So I helped her clear out things that didn’t belong in her closet, and then organize what DOES still belong in her closet.
After seeing what items she already owns, I pointed out a few categories that maybe could use some updates! She’s a girl on a budget, which I LOVE. So I gave her a list of some items to look for at thrift stores. When I left her house, I went to a local thrift store and took some pictures of brands she should keep her eye out for when she gets a chance to shop! Chances are she’ll have a tiny person in tow, so I wanted to make sure she is set up for SUCCESS and can have a super efficient shopping trip.
